GISIG – Geographical Information Systems International Group, whose office is at Via Piacenza 54, 16138 Genova, Italy, will be the controller of any personal data processed as described in this Privacy Policy.

  1. Purposes of the processing

In accordance with Art.13 of L. Decree 196/03 and Art. 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 , the GISIG Association wants to inform you that your personal data provided through this registration shall be acquired and processed using the support of telematics, hardcopy and IT means in full compliance with the Privacy Code and the GDPR.

Your personal information is collected, stored and used for any of the following purposes: to contact you occasionally in order to invite you to share your opinions and experiences in order to improve the quality of the Website; for statistical analysis about the use of the website; for informing and inviting you to register to the newsletter and new initiatives; to create and store content in EO4GEO end user tools.

  1. Legal basis for the processing

Our legal basis for collecting and using the personal information will depend on the personal information concerned and the specific context in which we collect it

We will collect personal information from you only (i) where we have your consent to do so, (ii) where we need the personal information to perform a contact with you, (iii) to allow you to use all the tools of the website.

Registration and participation of data subjects are provided on a purely voluntary basis. However we will make this clear at the relevant time and advise you whether the provision of your personal information is mandatory or not.

  1. Storage of Information

The user data are collected through web forms and hosted in a cloud environment. The datacenter is located in Italy and managed by Aruba S.p.A.

End user tools and it’s data are stored in Firebase, to check its data processing terms check https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy. We use google analytics to help us improve our tools. Only anonymized content is stored.

  1. Who has access to your information and to whom is it disclosed?

The access to all personal data is granted to the controller (GISIG) of the processing of personal data.

  1. How long do we keep your data?

We retain personal information we collect from you where we have an ongoing legitimate need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal or accounting requirements).

Registered users have password protected direct web access to their profile and can cancel their registration at any moment.

  1. Your Rights

Therefore, the provision of your data is optional and your denial to provide them, and/or at the subsequent processing it will determine the impossibility to register your data in your own data file and, consequently, to establish possible relationships with you.

With reference to your data, you can exercise your rights pursuant to art. 7 of the L. Decree n. 196/2003 and art.15 of the GDPR.

Where applicable, you also has the rights referred to in Articles 16-21 GDPR (Right to rectification, Right to be forgotten, Right to restriction of processing, Right to data portability, Right to object).
