Description of the organization:

Randbee Consultants is a consultancy company with expert knowledge on data and statistical analysis, web visualization tools, modelling and capacity development.
Our multidisciplinary team of researchers, IT developers, designers and data scientists develop solutions for sustainable development using Earth Observation datasets and others. We have a global approach to consultancy, participating in Horizon Europe projects, consultancy projects for several EU agencies, the European Commission, the United Nations and the private sector. We help our clients to manage and get insights from their data by using cutting edge artificial intelligence and visualization open-source technologies.

Duration in months and preferred period:

6-12 months starting from May 2022 (specify if required duration / dates can be flexible)

Commitment (working time):
A part time or full-time employment

Description of the work programme / tasks during the internship:
The intern will provide analytical support for the different projects in which Randbee is involved. The intern will count on a close supervision from the senior members of the team, but he/she will work for himself/herself within the framework of the guidance provided by his/her mentor.

Some of the tasks will include:

  • Assisting on projects for clients related to data analysis and visualization;
  • Developing and applying machine learning algorithms;
  • Writing technical documentation for the projects;
  • Support proposal and project activities, such as through desk research, developing concepts, investigating methods and tools;

Required profile and pre-requisites (if any):
Master’s degrees related to geomatics, information technologies or similar are welcomed. We are looking for someone with some basic programming skills (Python and/or R) and familiar with open software (such as QGIS) who is interested in the analysis and visualization of diverse spatial datasets. Some experience with Javascript and CKAN would be a bonus. The candidate must show initiative and be highly motivated.
